Dealer used a rubber caulking on my 5er, when the nose cone had to be replaced to to factory crack. They then supplied a liter of ELIXIR
Plast-T-Cote, rubber roof coating on top of that. At 20.00/liter this coating seems to be doing the job.

Good luck Old Guy!!!!

What you need is called self-leveling sealer - comes in a tube to be applied by a caulking gun. You can get it at CW or any RV parts supplier. They will tell you how to apply it.

Look for the product name of DICOR. Excellent and probably the most popular with the repair shops.

HI Folks
I agree with Bob , DICOR is an excellent product...
This stuff runs around $12.00 a tube ... All the seals on my trailer roof are about 1/2" to 3/4 " wide , the sealant is self leveling ...For example: I used one whole tube around each air vent and the seal is as good as new after four years..Alittle costly but very effective..

DICOR is the stuff. It self levels and is good for rubber roofs. It also works for the newer "vinyl"/ sheet fiberglass roofs.

Hello Old Guy... thanks for the info. I'm going to see if I can find a tube, for those "just in case" times. Hey! ya never know when you may need it.

Don't over look EternaBond, a 4' wide tape that has a plastic peel off membrane. It comes in 50 or 39 foot rolls and is ideal for long seems. Those going the length of the coach or all the way across. Be very careful when you start and make sure the tape is lined up properly because once it is stuck it WILL NOT COME OFF.Peel only a short section of the membrane away and keep the tape lined up while pulling or peeling the release tape from underneath..My coach has a rubber roof with a long molding on each side over a aluminum radius ed sheet which connects the roof with the sidewalls. With the tape at 4 inch wide I can just go over that seam without having to remove any old sealer short of the biggest bumps. It comes in black and white and is flexible to compensate for twisting motion and uneven expansion.
I am only a happy user I don't sell it and am not in any way connected with this product.
Gerry
