Food Plant and Animal Inspections
I'd check it any time I was heading that way as things change. Canada actively protects their food chain. I wish we did as well.

Doesn't Canada have anything better to do than worry about some poor chicken crossing into Canada? Why would a chicken even want to cross into Canada? It must be a lost or de-ranged chicken?

Didn't know there were free range chickens. Are the herds (flocks) pretty large?.

They are trying to keep out avian flu.
We send our chickens out of the country to catch it and bring it back, they keep their chickens at home and expect other folks to do like wise. I'll leave it to you over who has the better policy.

We are just trying to figure out why the wings are so
much larger in the states than in Canada.

Ummmmm.... Works that way in both directions. I've had chicken confiscated while crossing nto USA . only constant is to check for specifics at time of crossing in either direction.

Don't take dead meat across the border.
Going North or going South. Either way. Frozen or canned or dried or whatever.
I just don't need the hassle.

I got stopped crossing into the US a month ago and was told some of the canned dog food I had was not allowed in.
When I pointed to the "Made in USA" part of the label the agent just shrugged and said he didn't write the rules.
I wonder what they're worried about?

There's a lot more food restrictions going into the US than into Canada.
