Yes, there is discussion of gasoline prices in the talk about tourism here.

Yes, we have refinery, but not local marketing. Pricing is regulated and tied to various world markets, that is bow to 'corporate'...... (refraining here!!!)

Check the European situation re. fuel!!! & Oz too. I'll see if I can get my Oz contact to answer some of that. ie. What alternate fuels are people looking at. I know EU cars are going either diesel or lpg.

I will admit diesel is looking better than gas, but I'm glad I'm not planning on replacement until late 08 or early 09.

Ah, not far from Grand Manan, Calais, Campobello, Lubec, my old stomping grounds. Believe me there is stuff to be found. You just have to be looking. Hoping to make Grand Manan this year. Peaked at this area for the first time in 20 years last year. Have to peak again. My old property was up forsale!!!

I can go with this truck. & ferry is less bother with this rig, too.

Ferry from NB to Digby was almost some price as Sydney to Port Aux Basques for us. Didn't want to drive the 580kms around at 1.04 per liter so we said, to he.. with it, lets spend our dough in Ontario. Don't get me wrong, I'd sooner travel east, but not at ANY cost!
At least if i travel to NL, I can boondock if I want, or stay in P/C/G's with Full Services for $22 compared to, $38+. To me it seems everyone is just out to get as much as possible...but I won't be part of it.

Brad,

Mea Culpa,

I assumed you knew ferry was to Grand Manan, since Grand Manan is an island!!!!!

You see more taking the road and stopping by Fundy going to NS. & there is lots of crown land. Nice PPs too. Why do people forget the PPs, sigh.

sorry.

My # of posts has remained the same all morning. ????

Ouch.

Well then, I shared my disappointment at fellow Canadians turning tail over our gasoline prices with a Canadian author of at least one rving tome, who lives near you in ON.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">(Me)I'm really disappointed in a report over at IRV2.
&gt; One person decided the &gt; Atlantic Canada gas prices were too high and came&gt; home. The ferry to &gt; Digby price too high, didn't want to drive around, &gt; with all of that Fundy
&gt; coast . Wonder if that was heat too.

(Reply)#### Americans seem to much more concerned about the cost of gas and their vacations than we seem to be. There's the odd one that says I'm going anyway, but mostly they seem to travel less and stay closer to home. Our gas is more expensive; how come we don't think the same way?
&gt; </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I told said author I thought the reply was lovely and might just quote it.

Gas prices have been much discussed all spring. I was quite surprised at this.
