Darlington Prov Park Clean Up

Our camping organization has this project where we are allowed into the Provincial Park before the actual opening date and we do odd jobs around the park as a project. We clean the sites, rake leaves, paint signs, clean the beach etc. The Park provides all the necesssary tools and supplies and in return for this work, we get 2 nights free after Labour Day weekend.
The Rangers and people working in the park do not have enough time or resources to do these jobs, so for them its a very important part of their operations budget.
Last year most of us returned for Thanksgiving at the Park.
Its a great day and we are looking forward to it. We will be there on April 29, 30 and May 1. Our group is Family Campers and RVers and other chapters do the same in other areas of Ontario and across the US as well.
Its our way of making sure that these Public Parks are open for the future generations.

I am very happy to report that the amount of garbage to clean up this year was much less than last year, so that is a good sign. Maybe people are starting to be more concerned with our Provincial Parks.
Unfortunately the over night fees for these sites with only electricity availbale at the sites is over $40 a night.
Grossly overpriced in our opinion. We discussed with the Park Ranger and they say the prices are set from the Ministry repsonsible for Provincial PArks.
