Ok, you all who are heading south, have you got internet access, via cell or wifi? To keep you in touch with the 'rest of the world' (translate = IRV2)?

There are Internet cafes, but there are also public libraries, assuming they have enough open hours and computers. Others have reported in from down that way using those means!!!

Pretty much leave all the tech stuff behind when we vacation. Pack the cell phone, for "just in case" situations. Actually did use computer in a motel to do some banking Only other Tech thingy I carry is my GPS, but I guess that falls in the "just in case" category.

I will be leaving Fort Lauderdale for Oshwa later in the week.
Indian Line Conservation says they will be staying open later this year because of a predicted mild November and December.
I gave up on the WiFi locations and high cost same with the cafe' locations. Cingular is my choice for a international card. It does cost a little more but works in most locations. That is with a US registry however.

Ah, a Florida resident heading to Canada to enjoy the change of seasons.

There are free wifi locations up here in some places, more this year than last year. We call them CAP (Community Access Program) Sites. I can't find any listed for Ontario, but once again try the public libraries.

You'll have to tell us how you like our fall.

Mickey... Oshawa, the town where I was born, raised and made my living. You originally from "the city that motovates"
Leaves in the area are changing nicely. Take a trip out to the "Ridges",north and east of Oshawa. Colours haven't peaked yet, but won't be long....Brad

I use both.

WiFi is my first choice because it is mostly hooked to a broadband provider but it's only available within a couple hundred feet of the source.

Verizon cellphone data access is available most anywhere on the east coast of the US. And it can be used while moving down the highway.

I'll be headed south next Friday and will be using Verizon's high speed National Access (about twice dial up speed) most of the time.

Do they have to put a password into your computer, or do you just connect?

Or, do you have to buy something in the food and beverage line to get permission?

To each his own...LOL....Am leaving for Portsmouth, Va. Tuesday and will be back very much in time to put up my winter garage, fire up my woodstove and get my X-C skis in order. Took a poll at the local campgrounds and was told that at 67 I was too young to snowbird it. Darn.....but I'm happy for y'all and enjoy your winter.

If we get the winter they say we are to get I will aim for a thousand km on my skis. I need three hundred by Jan.1 to make it.

I will be staying at my friends off of Ritson in North Oshawa/Bowmanville. I had stayed there a few years ago and love the area. Originally from Wisconsin, I have been a Floridian for the past fifty-three years.
