Driving to Sarasota in December

Hi Everyone!

Please forgive me I am new to forums and I have tried to search threads for information but I am not sure if I am doing it correctly.

We are thinking about driving(weather permitting) to Sarasota Florida from Niagara region in Ontario. I am looking for advice on the best route to take down there.

I think I would get over to I 95 as quickly as possible, to avoid mountain driving, even though it will be congested in areas. Google maps

I've driven to Niagra and Toronto a couple times but not in the MH. I cannot remember if there are any "bad" mountains this way, but I would set your GPS for Erie, PA and then when you get near Erie, set it to head for Richmond, VA. This will get you on I-95 south bypassing Baltimore and Washington D.C. Once past Richmond, VA set the GPS for Sarasota.

The general route will be I-90 WEST, I-79 South, I-76 East, I-70 East, I-270 South, I-495 South, I-95 South.
