it depends on where you are going to decide if you would be alone.

We will be near Cache Creek. probably use parents trailer to not have to take ours on ferry.$$$

Weekend after will be Nanaimo.

Hey Kid, I recall some pretty out of the way places between you and Cache Creek. One of my most memorable drives is between Whistler and Cache Creek on Hwy 99. Totally awesome drive.
All that are off this weekend...Enjoy
....Brad

still is memorable.

gov't has already started throwing money at it for 2010.

still as steep and winding as it ever was, but now its paved all the way(actually has been for 13 years or so now).

the biggest thing is that no matter what the gov't does, they can't control the weather and the idiots that will try to drive it.

hello Big Kid.
we are planning to head out this friday to somewhere around the Kane Valley southeast of Merrit/north of Princeton.
if the backroads are cleared there are many places to camp.
where do camp near cache creek.
the only place we have stayed is east of Ashcroft, Barnes Lake rec site.

I'm with Little Koppit, not only that the wife has a cold thanks to a visit to the medical clinic. Go tell, we avoid colds and the flue all year round, then go see a doctor and get colds. Modern medicine. The RV is ready to go but cleaning and polishing is left to do yet and these are nice days for it.

Rockman,

I guess you looked like your pic after saturday night. we had 1/2 inch or so. -7 C monday morning.

Nearest to Cache Creek, there is only the Brookside campground. I always end up in someones yard, usually up the valley(where I grew up-turn off #1 near red hill rest area) directly across the Thompson river from Barnes Lake.

there are a number of different options, depending on how close you want to be. You can go up to Crown Lake (Marble Canyon Prov Park area) on highway 99. Just before you get there, you could find a place to park on Hat Creek Rd, lots of abandoned logging roads up there, also, there is the road that goes from the Cache Creek Airport/garbage dump up to Macleans lake, which is a nice place to visit.

If you tow a ATV or something like that, three sisters rec site opens up a large maze of old roads to explore, I can give more detail on those if you want.

If you are into fishing and such, Blue Earth Lake rec site is good, VERY remote.

Ashcroft lets you dry camp for free near "Legacy Park", on main street(Railway Ave).
