Hello Everyone: Do you camp in the fall? Where? When do you winterize? One of my last trips will be Bon Echo PP Sept 30/05, then St.Jacob's shortly there after. We actually prefer fall and spring camping, as the bugs are at a minimum, and the Great Canadian Yahoo's are usually burnt out by that time.

Brad,
I don't know if this counts. I think I'm going to load the girls and we'll all go after blueberries. Keep the fridge going steady. Get some more cereal aboard. Plenty of milk.
Who needs meat and veg. ?
Don't you wish you were here for such!!!!!

Fall camping. We camp until the snows come.
This coming week, boondocking at its best. Actually it used to be a tent deal, but it takes a p/u to get there. This is my piece of earthly heaven, my golden pond or whatever:

Next camping trip is to Charlevoix, Île-aux-Coudres to be exact. It can be a bit grueling as there is a 19% grade to deal with, but we camp out at the ferry landing. The town up above is Les Éboulements, where I'll be scouring the cemetery looking for ancestor's headstones.
Tourists gone. Off to Virginia Beach area for bluefish and stripers. Mebbe Fla...dunno. Loosiana (yes, Loosiana is pronounced like that down there) for a festival. Date of our return will be just in time to put up our winter garage. And you know what THAT means! I missed my trip to Ontario, I surely won't miss out on fall bluefishing.
BTW.....If you are over 65, you do not need a fishing licence in Virginia regardless of where you might be a residant.
If any of you are interested, we hold a rally in February on the Saguenay River, the fjord...Dress warm!

How did you know blueberries are my favorite Kopit. When I was in NL, I acquired a taste for BakeApples. I even have them sent to me using Downhomer. Wild blueberrries here are $8.00 a quart basket.
Jim, your fishing trip sounds like a lot of fun. If my wife would retire, I could have some fun too.

Bringing my wife fishing is like bringing my lunch to a banquet. She can't row, she won't dig worms nor snatch crawlers, she won't slpit wood and she won't bait up.
That's all right, I love her anyway, that's why she's going with me.

Reminds me of the guy who advertizes in the personals , for a woman who loves to fish, can clean fish, bait a hook, and owns her own fishing boat. Send picture of boat.

Hopefully we'll make it to the end of November or early December before finishing and having to winterize. Then we leave in early January for Florida.

Winter-ize?
I heard something about that once. I just can't remember where?
We don't stop. Planning a Nov trip fishing, Jan trip to Tofino to storm watch, then we are back to spring, and the season starts again.

Gee that would be nice not to have to winterize. It's not hard just a pita and for such a short time.

we don't camp in july/augustbut we do camp all winter.
heading up northern BC for 3 weeks in september.
normally have to winterize the bigfoot in november but we keep on camping anyway.
last winter we camped at minus 39 celcius.
was more worried about the diesel fuel than the camper's plumbing.
