I hear tell it may not be long before only Canada has glaciers on this continent.
From the website of Glacier National Park: http://www.nps.gov/glac/

Melting Glaciers
The glaciers in Glacier National Park are melting. In 1850, 150 glaciers covered the landscape. Today in 2006, there are only 27 glaciers left inside the park, a 75-80% decrease. If current warming trends continue, it is projected that between 2030 and 2050, there will be no more glaciers in Glacier National Park.

& some say it will be sooner than that.
Canada will have fewer glaciers too.
1) Have you visited a glacier?
2) Are you adding glaciers to your 'want to visit' list?
3) Or if they were already on your list, are they on your sooner list? & when is that to be?

Novi, Those icebergs, former glacier parts, have been washed a bit before those vodka producers harvest the ice for business, you know.
Rockman, you're kind of doing the reverse of what I plan to do of a spring, but we're both planning to do the Cassiar at the more mild end of our trips.

Do you suppose we could invent a new product? Salt water vodka? or Purely Canadian Arctic Vodka?

Novi, I doubt that those bergs were Canuck glaciers.
More than likely they are wanders, voyageurs from Greenland.
Iceberg Vodka has a better ring than Glacier Vodka. How about Athabaskan Rye? Made with pure melted glacial water and the best prairie grain.

The question is how to harvest a chunk of iceberg and melt out the 'pure water'.
Actually, I've used a kit for 'ice wine.' You don't ferment it out completely, but you add a chemical to stop the fermentation, but you have to keep it cool.
Over here we don't have grapes, but can do quite a lot with honey and sugar. Mead, which is made from just honey is my best product!!!!
