Hi All,
Are we ever into it! Been snowing now since 9:00 AM yesterday....then the winds came up.
A good old time storm, it is. BUT...today is Boxing Day! Any truly dedicated shopper worth his or hers grits will be in line before noon at their local ''spending hole''. Roads are shut down, the Hwy. 20, but somehow they will manage to show up on time.
In case of power outs, we shall retire to the camper to dine on micro-heated Xmas leftovers and stale egg nog. (Yeurk). We have a Wabasco heater and should be in T-shirts inside there.
Son gave me a 25-piece snow removal kit. A case of beer and a shovel. I shall use part of it today, but not to gain access to the road leading to the mall!
Ski-doo are now allowed to use farmlands as the farmers and govt. have come to an agreement.
No skiing today.
Enjoy Boxing Day or rather the Feast of the St. Shovel.........

Well, Roadrunners you sound as though you're still celebrating.
Love the 25 piece snowremoval kit!!!
Boxing Day is not a big shopping day here, it's more of a holiday. Tomorrow is more of a shopping day. But I have to go to work Thurdsday, and if I don't get through one thing, also on Friday.
Good news for the farmers!!! What was the 'agreement'?
As for your storm, it's coming this way. You can't see it on the web cams yet, Newfoundland & Labrador Roads , Nova Scotia Roads, but I believe this forecast. Maybe I just want to hunker down.
Scumptidelicious meal at cousins yesterday - salmon, oysters, goose with prune stuffing, veggies cooked in goose broth, flaming plum pudding, cordials, and came home with all kinds of fun goodies. & I came home with a share for the pooches too, goose grease. 1/2 teaspoon of that per day will help winterize them for months.
Shovelling tomorrow.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

Thanks Roadrunners, we've got it now. Frankly I hope it stays.
Right now, I can't get out the front door. I'll probably have to reach the shovel, take it to the basement and swim to the front steps.
You can't see that here, but look anyway: NL Roads Webcams

You're right. Eastern part of the island got rain.
As for the West Coast, well, right now, it's melting. & just wait until Friday and Saturday. +7 & +8 with you know what on Saturday.
The snow enthusiasts are grumbling!!!
But remember we do get it!!!

Bushman--does not look like we are going to get much of a freeze in the near future. Jay says the temps are going to remain above normal. There is a couple of nights coming with temps. down to -9C maybe but that may not be enought to move the rig.

Morning Bushman: It's a good thing that you have some time before you go south, we will likly get some good cold freezes before too long. This warm weather is quite unusual even for here. Our beagle was a natural hunter for sure but we did not use her for hunting, she was a house hound. We lost her a few months ago due to some disease, my wife is looking for another beagle, perhaps a rescue dog and give her a new or better home. They travel well and love to go RVing.

Bushman, is it cold enough for you to move the 5er yet? The ground has firmed up some here but not well frozen yet.
