We want to switch out our stock 5'er in box in favour of a Mor-Ryde. We are in Calgary right now and the RV dealers want an arm and a leg to install this new pin box. Anyone done it themselves?

It took 2 of us about 30 minutes. Not complicated but it is heavy.

Thanks Lee. Did you have trouble getting the old bolts off? They seem to be quite stubborn. What trailer did you have? Ours is a 34.5 ft Citation.

The trailer is a 35ft King of the Road.

I used a socket with a long handled "pull bar", inside the box and my handy dandy 1/2 inch drive "air impact wrench" at the other end of the bolt.

You'll definitely need long handled tools that will allow a lot of leverage. These nuts and bolts are on there tight.....Just as they should be.

You don't say if you're traveling or at home but maybe you can borrow a couple of tools. I had to pay $10 for a wrench the other day. (ouch!)

Good luck!

Thanks a bunch Lee. We did manage to get the bolts off tonight and it was thanks to a fella in the campground here where we are. Long handle did the trick! Thanks again!

Never mind...we did it. It was not that difficult. We had a neighbour who had the right sized socket set and was willing to help. We will get a torque wrench to make sure all the bolts are tight enough before we pull out in October. Thanks again everyone!
