We go the other route ( 79 77 ) and usually stop in Wytheville Va at a Fling J. Its roughtly 12 hours including stopping for fuel and rest ect.

There are many more Fling J truck stops down your route of 75 if thats what you are looking for. In fact the Flying J website has a mapping source that includes their locations.

I know some of us make our first stop at Brea Kentucky, south of Lexington. There is a decent little CG there for about $10-15 a night. We often stayed at the Flying J at Walton Kentucky also.

When we travel to Florida, our 1st night we stay at "Walnut Meadow" in Brea KY. It is a Passport America park and their rate was $12 last winter. Our 2nd night is at "Fair Harbour" in Perry GA. It is also a PA park and the rate was $14. I would commission our water system at this point.

We used to leave London area around 6 AM and go via Windsor to I-75. Arrived at campground in Berea around supper time, 5 PM. That includes gas stops, lunch, breaks, and we traveled at about 60-65mph. Your are about 3-4 hours further away going via GTA to Sarnia. It maybe that Fort Erie is faster ?? It sounds like it would be a full days travelling anyway. It was for us.
Another option we used a few times was to stay overnight at the Flying J at Walton Ky. It is about 1 1/2 hours closer than Berea. They have an RV area at the front away from the big trucks. Not as quiet as a cg but free and we were not alone.

I think with the sagging economy here(USA)the borders aren't nearly as busy. The Ft.Erie crossing took us all of 2 minutes. Fuel prices are good, sales are plenty, but our dollar off sets alot of the savings to be had....But what the heck!! we're on vacation.......

We use the multiple trip coverage from CAA, 65 dollars ( for 1 year ) each and covers you for all your trips stateside up to a max of 15 days per trip. You can pay more and have 30 days, we simply top up when staying longer then 15. Click of the mouse, very convenient.

Good Sam for roadside 79 per year.

We had Good Sam ERS for years fortunately only used it 1 or 2 times but it worked has advertised. For out of Canada health insurance I got mine through my employer when I retired from the province of Ontario ministry of health. Johnson Insurance, it is a good deal but I do not know if it is open to the public, it may be given the economic situation, you can try anyway.
