Hello everyone - have been reading along in the Forum for some time now and after a couple of e-mails from Brad - thought I should jump in and say hello and let you all know how things are here in Alberta. We are all done spending our Ralph bucks and waiting for the next installment! (Sorry - couldn't resist!)

We have been camping for about 10 years now - with the last eight just locating at a lake lot in South-eastern BC. We have camped in everything from a tent to a tuck camper and now a fifth wheel which is actually on its way to the dealer on THursday in trade on a new Colorado 26FB travel trailer. Had this trailer set up with solar package, inverter etc. and just finished at the dealership in negotiating a Reese Dual Cam hitch into the deal as. SO we pick up on Thursday - load up all the stuff that afternoon and move everything to the lake on Friday morning.

Look forward to hearing about everyone's camping adventures as we start a new season.

Take Care everyone - Happy Camping!

Darren

Hello Darren,

from the right side of the counttry.

I only moved 'up' to a TC a couple of years ago from a wooden truck cap. Why are you now moving to a TT?

Do you travel when you go camping or do you go places close to home?

Hello DarrenS, glad you desided to drop in.
We're always happy to Welcome new people to our discussions.

Now those "Ralph Bucks", personally I'm glad to see someone getting a break in theses "over priced" times. Only wish we here in Ontario could get a break as well, He*l, I wish the whole country could get a break.

So, Have you towed a trailer before you got the 5th wheel? Most wouldn't go back to a T/T after a 5er. I don't think I would. Maybe with all the New Hitch modifications, T/T's now tow better. Any way ...Each to his own!......Brad

P.S. Please Keep us Informed as to whats up, in the West.

Hey Brad - our evolution of camping vehicles has been; tent - truck camper - travel trailer - 5th wheel - now back to travel trailer! Our primary reasons for going back to a TT is that we don't pull it that much - it goes to the lake and stays there for the summer (we do some short trips in the fall) and secondly - my wife has a messed up back and our current 5th was way to tight up top for her to comfortably get in and out of (and make the bed!!) Also - I had a situation where I had to change my tow vehicle and needed something that I could pull - so a TT fit the bill.

I have been pulling various types of trailers for many years (farm kid - you know!) so have no worries at all about pulling this one. Plus I went with the Reese dual cam to help out.

Thanks for dropping a note. Take Care

Darren

Good to know that even with a messed up back, she still has the desire to get out and about in an RV no-less. We mainly travel, so the 5er seems to be the best all round RV for us. Eg. ease of hookup, towing and more room etc.....Brad
