Morning Novi Took a little trip to Texas. Went to every major city, shopped 'till wife made me drop...even spent time on the beach in Galviston and Corpus Christy. Weather was 70s -90s ... met a lot of nice people including a Large number of Canadians.

Hi Ian...Thanks for the W/B.. Glad I brought something back you all could use..
Yes we did tour the USS Lexington.
While she's a large ship, apparently only half the size of current ships. The IMAX film about flight pilots was awesome. We stayed on Mustang Island State Park some forty miles around the bay. I didn't realize there were that many oil rigs in the Gulf

Hey Brad
Did you get fishing on the Island? free for all SP visitors and a great idea. That is our favourite State Park....I wish it had been warmer when we were there at the end of Jan....2006 it was great weather. A great area to visit and I was able to take Lyn on a dolphin watch cruise every time we went over to mainland through Prt Aransas...!!My idea of a pleasant cruise.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> Did you get fishing on the Island? </div></BLOCKQUOTE> I didn't do any fishing (an excellent idea) as I wasn't "geared" for it.
Prt Aransas looks to be getting ready for major expansion, with huge power poles and water pipes going in along the gulf shore line road. We didn't see any dolphins on those ferry trips , but did see a pod? in the gulf off Galviston.

If all goes as planned, we will be headin to Texas again this Jan/08. Will be sitting more, I think, as we have seen so much Jan./07. Will probably stay more inland. Anyone else heading south?

I doubt that we crossed paths while down there but it would have been possible......If you are going back we will be in San Benito/Harlingen at the Fun N Sun RV park until about the 15 Feb then we head west for a 7 week tour.....

Mornin Skip... we haven't firmed up on our plans yet, but were thinking of New Braunfels/ Canyon City area about 45 miles from San Antonio. Not near the gulf, but hey, were heading for the sun.

You headin to Florida Novi?
