No actual experience, but I have heard some stories(rumours) its a MUST HAVE! and be very careful about from whom and where you purchase it..I called my own personal insurance co about it and they can arrange it for me...I would almost be more inclined to buy it from them..at least I have more than a one time client relationship if I need help..

Skip...dosen't your former employer cover you??
Wife and myself are cover, anywhere, through my former employer.
Your idea of staying with your own insurance co. make more sense than shopping around.

We are really well off with the Medi pak benefits in my retirement package, the Medical insurance is second to none(manulife financial) thru OMERS,, I took his original question to mean vehicluar insurance..either way its a must and you have to be careful where you purchase it...

Hey Old Guy
I did not see your original posting or I would have replied then. I have used the same company for past 3 years. They have a web site where you can check on line for prices. They are at http://www.mexadventure.com/. I have never had to use their insurance yet, so cannot comment on their claims. I like the fact I can do it over the net, pay by visa and they send insurance via a pdf format ready to print out. Last season i had heard of a few places in Nogalies (at Mexican boarder) that sells insurance and they paid a lot less than I did. So this year my plan is to go Nogalies and check them out, and if they do not seem cheaper, i will get on line, get my renewals done and they send the insurance immediatley via e-mail. I carry a printer with me, so I can print out copy. There are a lot of Mexican Insurance companies on line...just google Mexican insurance and see what you get.
I hope you have reservations for an RV park in the PV area. Last season things were pretty well booked up and I have heard most places are booked solid for this season.

The park we stay in started a new rule for this season, we have to pay for 4 months to keep the site. So we will be there about the same times as you. If your around the area stop in and say hello, i am the only one in the park with a harley motorcycle. Our park has a web site at http://groups.msn.com/FriendsOfParai...-MexicanRVpark We have a few fisherman in the park and the dorado is plentiful if they are catching any at all.
Have a great winter in Mexico.

Amazing storey in todays paper about 3 fisherman who went adrift off San Blas, Mexico and drifted for 9 months and 8,000 klms. Below is a link to the storey if your interested. Who says fisherman are not hardy people.
