Today.. I scrubbed, cleaned and vacummed the 5er. Filled the lines with the "Pink Stuff" and parked it for the season. With todays weather (sunny, warm and 27C)it seems I may have been too hasty. My Camping Season is now over

sad seeing the season come to an end. But now you can start looking forward to next season. My busy time starts tomorrow, nearly every weekend for the next 2 months. In fact we will be in your neck of the woods not this weekend but the next weekend, Oshawa Civic Center.

we are just starting our camping season.
after not camping june, july and august we had our first 3 week trip last month.
this saturday we head out for a week long trip for some fall fly fishing in the lake district of BC.
have another week planned in november and already mapping out boondockig during xmas and new years.
just because the temps drop doesn't mean you have to stop camping.

You know Rockman, come January we can gang up on Brad and all the other snowbirds, who want to avoid snow and make it clear to them just how much fund snow is!!!!

Well...I'll tell ya. If I had the benefit of ocean currents moderating the temperatures, maybe I'd spend more time camping too.
When the temps here start hitting -10C and BELOW, I go into Hibernation Mode. Throw another log on the fire and stayWARM . In January or February we say and head south

When the temps are -10?....See:

I spent five winters in the Carib and what I missed the most was the snow. (And Hockey Night in Canada)

So Brad, before snow you hang out with your Deere, eh?
& RoadRunner, with a name like that you must have met Jackrabbit Johannsen. The question is which of you could out ski the other?

We had a basement flood June 10th that involved some repair contractors killing some summer camping plans, so there are a few more trips left in us before the final winterizing.
If it were really that cold, then I would bring the compressor with us to blow out the lines before switching off the the furnace.
Way too early to pack it in, we are heading out tomorrow to break in the new hitch, even if it snows!
Happy Thanksgiving,
Mike.

winter camping does present its challenges.
like putting things in the fridge so they don't freeze.
last new year's we spent camping at -39C and my only concern was diesel gelling.
took the appropriate precautions and everything was fine.
with good tire chains and a long handled shovel we have never been stuck for too long.
heading out tomorrow for week's worth of fall fly fishing up in central BC.
"remember, a bad day on vacation always beats a good day at work"

Having just returned from our last RV'ing adventure to Esquimalt (West Bay Marina & Rv Park) we are now deciding whether to winterize or gamble that the first real freeze won't happen until after we've headed down (mid Nov.) to Arizona for the winter. AIN'T IT TOUGH?

I agree Brad, we've had a couple of nights with heavy frost here in Fergus and I don't think I want to chance it. It's real easy to push it all out at the first park we hit anyway.
