Do you have a "last weekend out" that finishes your camping season. Ours used to be Labour Day, but now we go as long as possible.

Brad, I was going to say, "Hey, aren't you retired?"

I think the TC will stay up until October.

The girls want to go more, that's clear.

Sure am Kop! been having fun at it too. Nearly two years now. Ya know...I don't miss working even a little bit
Fact is...travel and camping is much better when not so many people are around, and I'll never miss the people who get their three weeks vacation..and spend it in a public park, playing the fool and bothering other people. And what about people who take their dogs...and let them BARK all the time.......

It can be very interesting in new circumstances. I've never parked in someone's driveway before and tied the girls on, where they could see lots across the lawn - people on the side walk, the dog next door..... Lot's of things to say "Hey, Alpha, take note!!!" for. & they did, but after a few occasions of Alpha 'barking' a sharp NO, they got the message. & at night, when Alpha, who sleeps inside, slaps the sides of the TC, they get the message. Actually, sometimes they sort of 'wff' and the chains move and Alpha slaps the side of the camper and that's that.

Doncha know its all about training humans???

Hey!!! I agree 100%. Its usually the beer swilling, disruptive camp neighbours, with dogs, that don't think they need training.
A barking dog that hasn't been "humanized" is just another pest, in compition with its loud obnoxious owners.

Oh dear, other thought, if we're going on about pet peeves.

One of my pet peeves is the parent of children who run all over the cg, carrying on with loud shrill voices and when really bad think they can career through everyone's campsite. Believe me, when that happens, I do not say anything to the dogs if they take exception to the incidents.

But you just know, that a dog owner complaining about loud kids just doesn't cut it.

& you think, is there any justice.

I will enjoy being retired.

Last outing of season????
I'm just getting started. First outing is day after labour day when the pavement returns to some resemblance of sanity.
Spent all last weekend scrubbing down the truck and camper then waxing both.
Took 4 hours and now I can't move my arms.

LK, where we camp, barking dogs only bother the wildlife. With bears and cougars around barking is a good thing but we only tolerate one or two woofs before giving a command to stop.

Brad, don't pack up the camper yet, you will miss the best part of the year, autumn breezes, colours, and cool nights.

We find the fall is the best time to go RVing. No crowds, no heat and the colours are fantastic. Our last outing this year is in early November.

Not too sure when we'll stop. First year for us, was going to do a run this month but decided to wait until Sept. The RV has insulatiton in the roof and walls so we may go until the snow flies. I prefer the fall for travelling, less traffic and cooler weather. Mostly it will depend on how DW feels. Modifications are completed so all that's left to do, is to wash it down and wax it. Can't believe after all that heavy rain theres still bugs splattered on it.

Cheers Willis

WilleyB, do you all partake of winter 'fun'. You and Rockman, could come here and lord it over the rest of us for being home and only going skiing etc from our houses, vs, stepping out into the winter wonderland from your latest campsite. I'll just bet you both would have fun comparing notes.

What did I miss Willis?

Go as long as you feel comortable. I like going in fall as well. Something about a camp fire in the frosty air, then inside to a nice warm bed for the night.
After holiday season is over, prices for gas usually come down as well. That does make a difference to us pensioners
BTW has anyone seen 2Roadrunners lately? Hope things are well with him!
