Are you off camping this weekend? If so where? Is this your first outing this camping season?

we off season camp, this means we start our camping season in september and finish up the following june. we always "boondock" camp and have never plugged in. we do not camp in the "summer months" too many bugs, bears, brats, and boomboxes. we really enjoy the winter months even though you have to take special precautions. on average we spend a total of 8 weeks camping between sept and june.
so to answer your question, yes we are heading out for the may long weekend. probably head to the south central caribou region at a lakeside forestry site.

I can really relate to the, bugs, bears, brats, boomboxes thing. I even stopped camping for a period of time, till we purchased a 5er. Canvass pop-up just too un safe for us. We just retired last year, and took some time through the week this spring to camp, and it was exactly as you said rockman. No bugs, no bears, no brats, and no boomboxes. The P/P we stayed in was 2/3 filled with retirees, and people with no kids, and ya know, it was just great. Several Provincial Parks here have hydro sites which will enable us to camp far into the fall as well.

We were out this last weekend as well.

We moved our trailer down to our seasonal site at a local campground this past weekend. Kids helped with the setting up. All the family is looking forward to another season of camping. After the initial setup was complete, the wife commented that it seemed as though we never left the site. Looking forward to some fun filled times this season.

We'll be spending the May 24th weekend in Whitehorse. :-)

Using wifi instead of cell phone for this trip, and so far have been able to connect to the net in shopping malls, every day since we left Toronto.

Yes. The same one. :-)

We are in Anchorge, Alaska at the moment; catching up on email, etc., at a shopping mall wifi hotspot. So far, at the first three campgrounds that advertise in Milestone, claiming that they have wifi, don't have it. :-(

Hope your trip is going well Stan.Looking forward to hearing about your adventures in Alaska, and parts in between. I thought you were the same Stan Birch. Good to talk with you again. Be nice if members from there would pop in and say g'day.
When you get time, and connections, it would be good to hear from you again.
