Hey Brad, good morning. I think? I recall from last year that there was someone from this area that went to Mexico. I checked past posts but could not find it. Maybe I was hallucinating again.

I will be heading to Mexico this winter for sure. We have already left BC and curently in Southern Ontario with plans to head to the Newmar International rally this week. I know of many RVers heading to Mexco as well.
Anything I can do to help your travels, let me know.
With all this rain in Ontario, I wish I was heading south today.

Thanks O bi-Wan,
I'm really curious about who actually uses this forum that goes to Mexico for the winter and shares info on routes and campgrounds, maybe recommended visits and places to stay away from. I have the church's book but sometimes newer info. is helpful. We're trying to leave Nov.1st. By the way we've had incredable weather the last few days.

I did a few inquires last year about starting a new IRV2 forum for RV'ers travelling to Mexico, but it seems there would not be enought interested people to make it worthy. We have started a small web site for use by the people in the park where we stay. It works pretty good and its free.
We normally cross into Mexico at Nogalies and I have "saved" my route using the GPS on the streets and trips program and made some notes about places to stay along the way. Would be happy to share the file with anyone wanting it. This year we hope to cross from the east side around Pharr, Texas and are looking for some information on the route to take to La Penita which is just north of Puerta Vallarta. Where do you stay in Mexico?

We would probably be leaving here Nov.1st and slowly making our way south. Have to make a few stops along the way to pick up more stuff for our new fiver but the plan is to be in Mexico around the third week of Nov. Last year we spent about two weeks in Mazatlan at a fairly new campground far north. Nice place but poor water for rig, lots of salt. Can't remember the name but it used to be a good boondocking place years ago. We spent two months in Puenta Puerla at the Red Snapper and are booked in again Jan. & Feb. As you can see we like to hang out and relax. We traveled alot through Mexico in a VW van and before that with backpacks now we want to really get a feel for the different areas. After Puerla we'll head south and then up into the interior to visit some of the many wonderful towns and then home in April. Everything is up for change at a whim. La Penita is a very crowded park for us, we opted out.

Hi Obi-Wan-Kenobi Just read your message about Mx I would love to hear about your travels from Nogalas to Porta Valarta. We went by car last year and stayed 6wk in LaPanita then moved down to Bucerias just north of P V This year we got a 5ver with a 550 Ford 7.3 We are rookies at this but we are learning real quick by watching and talking to poeple like you. We are leaving Canada in two weeks doing a few stops on the way going thur Denver then work our way to Tucson hoping to cross at Nogalas on Oct 26 from there it looks like RV parks are few and far between. We would like to make it to Guamas looking at the Rv Parks at Hermosillo there isn't any close to highway. From there we planned to stop at Los Mochis and take a trip by train to the Copper Canyon from there work our way to Bucerias where we got a spot reserved about half a block off the water small park and tight to get into I would like to hear about your travel with an Rv in Mx as all the knowlage you can get sure helps Old guy

Hey Old Guy
Sounds like you will be crossing ahead of us. We will be in Nogalies about Nov 2nd. Do you use any type of computer software for driving like MS Streets and Trips. If so I could e-mail you the route I have saved and it shows the good pemex locations and the one truck stop that is great to stay in along the way. We stay in an RV park just south of La Penta in a place know as Fishermans Paradise. It is a small RV park, but of course it has the friendliest RV'ers you have ever meet. Stop in and say hello during your stay. A few pieces of info-
You are not allowed to take a leased vehicle down unless you have letter from the owner. We are going to attempt to get our insurance in Nogalies this year as we hear its cheaper than on-line. We might even consider a 7 day permit for motorhome just to get us to the rv park. Thieft is not covered anyway, except total thieft of entire vehicle, so the only other worry while it is parked is fire. We are still looking into this. Anyone have any thoughts on this, I would live to hear them.
