we off season camp so no more outtings planned until this september.
the last trip back in mid june, we actually had other campers show up.
that's the first time we had campground company in almost 8 months.
will use the 2 months off to catch up on small tasks and mods to the camper/truck.
see you in september...

May I ask what you do when you camp during the winter months? Do you stay warm?

LK, even in our "off season" I still check into the forum once in a while to keep on top of issues.
Lynn, we manage to keep warm in the winter but find it's actually harder to cool down in the summer. What do we do in the winter? Xcountry ski, photography, snowshoe, hike, if the lakes are not iced over we canoe and fly fish. Astronomy observing is actually better in the winter months (darker longer).
all with no bugs or bears...

Rockman I like the adventure of it. We haven't done any winter camping, our rig is too big and not that well insulated although it does have the "cold weather package". We did go once at the beginning of November and it did snow. But it sounds like fun and lots of peace and quiet.

I agree, there is a lot of peace and quiet when you winter camp.
but sometimes I think I spend most of the time with a shovel in my hand digging myself out of another snow depth misjudgement.
so I got smart and put the tire chains on as soon as we reached the snow.
but now when I get stuck, I'm usually really stuck.
oh well, a bad day on vacation beats a good day at work.
