Morning guys: I just had to go looking and see if I could find the info on oil I had read. In 1973 when we were all convinced we were nearly run out of oil the experts said we would be out of oil in 30 years. Well we should have run out of oil several years ago by their best estimates. Then they revised it and revised it over and over now proven reserves are several times higher than they were in 1973, That is the proven reserves only. So who do we believe. Some economists call it the concept of scarcity that drives prices up because we believe we are running out. This all works to who's?? best advantage. Not mine or yours that's for sure.

OMG Gasoline is up today. I thought I was picking up reports of a downward trend in the rest of the country.

But Environment Canada is predicting a warmer than usual winter here, sort of normal for Ontario, and warmer than normal for most of the western part of the country.

Is this the silver lining?????

Too early to tell here, it has been warmer than usual, today 27C. Gas has gone up a bit here was .955/L for a few days early last week now up to 1.019/L.

$1.19 eh,

I guess I forgot to give the price ($1.185). I got lost while hunting the right 'smiley'.

& there I was sure that we had the highest price all the way out here with our own crude oil and only 1 refiinery, and the deal for that - well IMHO, that could have been written by Joey.

The advent of home heating oil season has pushed the price of fuel here in the states to well over US$3.00 a gal. And that is at FlyingJ. Fuel has now surpassed gas in price.

See: http://www.flyingj.com/fuel/diesel_CF.cfm?state=ALL

At $3 a gal a quick calculation shows I need ~US$500 in gas to get from Pittsburgh to Myrtle Beach to Florida. Ouch! We may be condo shopping this winter.

$500.00, Yup!! That's about what I'm lookin at too, last year was about $350.00. Man I hope it comes down. At least I'm not going out west this year, that would be double the cost and only one way.

Morning All: I purchased gas on #7 hwy, Marmora, 102.5 on Sunday. Gas in Port Hope was 109.5 Prises sure don't seem to be dropping. Oil companies must realize they got us right where they want us.

I see Ford and GM sales are down, while Imports sales are soaring.
