R U looking for boondocking (like walmart, etc) or actual camping?

1/2 way between montreal and quebec have lots of camping, depending if you are using North or South shore road.

Personaly, I prefer North shore and from Montreal, use the old road to go to Quebec City.

However, just before Trois-Rivieres, get back on autoroute 40 and get off after, when you se the sign for "King Road" (it will be a crown on a blue sign)

Since you have a Class A, I highly recommend the "Parc de motorisés Godefroy".

It is in Becancour and is only for Motorhomes (A, B and C".

We just loved it and you only have to cross the bridge in Trois-Rivieres to the south shore et the camping is less than 3 kilometers away.

Check their web site, you will enjoy it (The Pics on their site are true).

No pool, etc, but 3 services for around $30. Plus there is a massotherapist centrr right on the site (front entrance).

This will cut your trip in half and lots to see around 3-Rivieres (my home town).

http://www.pdmgodefroy.com/anglais/index.html

When I was there, I was the smallest and cheapest moho around. The Prevost pulling the Hummer was something.

PS. Golf course across the street

Hey Rick, My recommendation is #20 > #540 > #40 > through the tunnel back on to #20. This is the quickest way through. Good Luck.... its not as bad as many think.

oops! just read back. This will take you south of the river, not sure if there's a better way to get to the north shore.

THanks Brad I did want to stay on the North shore but it really does not matter, the CG in Trois Rivers is on south and when I put it into the GPS it shows going S shore.

I have been told the LG tank has to be shut off going thru the tunnel so was trying to avoid that!!!

Rick

I've been through with several different trailers and never turned the gas off. I don't think there are any laws in the contrary.

You will probably be coming from 401, once you start entering Montreal from highway 40, take 13 North (direction |Mirabel)

From there drive north and then take 640 East, that will bypass Montreal using the North road.

Close to the end of 640 East, re-enter highway 40 East direction Quebec.

When entering Trois-Rivieres stay on 40 (it changes for 755 south , I believe and go toward the bridge will cross over the south shore.

From there you can go to Camping Godefroy, if you so desire.

As for the laws, in Quebec:

maximum de deux contenants –
réservoir ou bonbonne – d'une
capacité maximale de 46 litres
(40 lb) chacun.
Cette quantité était auparavant
de trois bonbonnes de 53 litres.

Translated it means 2 propane tank 40 lbs each. Before it was 3 tanks of 53 litres.

But you do not have to shut the propane off as the flame is not considered an open flame.

(Taken from Camping Quebec site - not my words)
