I already have the nice Park to sit in , but I think I will change some of my long distance travel plans and stick close to home until we see some easing of this latest money grab by the oil companies. I cant wait to see the profit/loss report from all of them this year. The oil companies are fully aware of the fact that there are many boomers retireing these next few years and they are ready to take atvantage of us.

I'm not really into sitting in one spot, but may have to do more from here on in. We usually take one major trip, then several small trips each summer. Hopefully prices will moderate some....but really can't see it.

I expect no change to our travel plans. We travel frequently all over southwestern Ont up to Barry down to Niagara area to Windsor and east of Toronto.

Actually, if you do the math,if the price of gas is 5cents per liter more this summer than last, that equates to about 5to 7 bucks more per tank. Not really that much more to justify not taking a vacation.

We are leaving Monday for three weeks on a fixed budget so the priorities are: Food, Gas and Campgrounds...the first two are essential.

Gas in the Québec City area today is 92.4¢/liter.. How much is it in eastern Ontario?

Your right regarding the cost of a trip even at the higher gas prices. Last year we drove out to Alberta, the higher gas prices at the time meant the trip would cost about $100 more than when the gas prices were lower. We asked ourselves, do we not take the trip because of $100? , If so perhaps we should not be motorhoming. At the same time I can see how it is a very real issue with people who are on a fixed income.

We're on the same page there Novi. That's how I figured it last year on our trip to the East coast. Cost maybe $100-$125 more, which really didn't justify staying home.

Morning,

Thanks for the gas prices. Quite a difference from here, that's for sure.

Thank you also for visiting my site.

Novi...Leaving for Branson, Mo. for a huge crafts show. Actually it is a festival but there will be many crafts tables there. Also searching crafts in the Ozarks, looking for new ideas. The Appalachian and Ozark folks do some great work and have handed down their craftsmanship through the generations.

gas prices here today are 80.5/L. Havn't been to Branson for about 5 years now, it is a beautiful area. In Sept. they are getting ready for halloween and decorate like we do for Christmas, it is a real big deal and what a great job they do. We are constantly checking out the craft ideas also, got 2 new ideas down in Florida this year we'll have to see if they do any good at our shows up here. We start next weekend.
