I am looking for a "good" private campground between North Bay and London. I waited to long to book into a Provincial Park (I know I snooze I lose)

We have friends in London and they are meeting us halfway and we are looking at private campgrounds now.

Thanks

There are 2 KOA's at Barry I think that would be about half way, I know it is 3 hrs from London. And there are some others in that area as well but no names come to mind. Either KOA is nice, the one north of Barrie is more rural and perhaps quieter the south Barrie one is right on the 400.

OPCA Try this link HappyScamper, and good luck I have used this site several times, with some good results. Only thing I find with most private C/G's is they tend to cram campers in too close.

While alternate facilities may be filled to capacity; Metro Toronto has a host of vacant campsites available at:

http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/parks/...ping/index.htm

Since these campsites are are not advertised nor generally known to the RVing community, RVers rarely experience difficulty in securing a campsite at one of these facilites, even during peak season,

If my memory serves me right, I remember a campground in St. Mary's, Camping world or something like that, private, and an exceptionally good CG.

There is another one in Milton, west of Toronto, a KOA which is not too shabby and easy access to the 401.....Jim

Thanks for the replys, I think we might go with the one KOA in Barrie, or even looking towards Wiarton for camping.

It is unbelievable what some parks charge. One the rates were based on two people and you had to pay for each additional person. We are a family of five and our friends are a family of seven, thanks but no thanks.

I tried Awenda but all the electrical sites are booked. We sort of waited too long.

I am trying to get dh and his friend to confirm dates, I can only look at so many parks with no dates, grrrrrrrr!!!!!!

With our luck we will be sitting in our backyard enjoying the bugs

Mikisew is only 1/2 hour drive for us, we are looking for more south/central Ontario. Might work out for us, as my cousin has lots of property around Milton. Also comes with a hot tub and huge pool.

Have you ever been to Grundy Prov.Park? We are thinking of going there next year and take the kids to Science North for a day.
