I thought I would pass on this experience in case it saves some of you some money. After a number of bangs with my steps not retracting when they should have I decided to replace them. The quote I got from the RV Centre was $800 for the steps and an hour of labour to replace them. This I felt was excessive, so I went on the web. I found them at PPL Parts for $301 US. They do not ship to Canada, or accept Canadian Credit Cards. I sent them a US money order and had them ship the steps to UPS in Ogdensburg NY. I then went down and got them ( an hours drive) and declared them at the border. All totaled they came to about $400 Cdn, which includes UPS's $5 fee, plus GST and PST. Had the steps installed this week (too heavy for me), and they work as good as new. Oh they are new. I would have pocketed the $400, but I did not have it in the first place.
