Roam Mobility

My wife and I are first time Canadian snowbirds and are planning to winter in Florida this year.

We're looking for a voice, text and data plan for our trip and are considering the "Snowbird" package offered by Roam Mobility. I've searched this forum but couldn't find any discussion on the quality/reliability of this service. Any feedback you'd care to share?

Check out http://www.pagepluscellular.com/plans/
They have a $55 plan that may fit your needs. I use an ATT Mobley for data but I use PagePlus for my phone (cheap $10 plan). They have been a good provider so far.

We have used Roam Mobility for the past 3 years in southwestern USA and have had no problems with the quality or reliability of their service.

Check out Verizon prepaid plans. $45US for unlimited calling including to Canada/Mexico and 8gb data and currently an additional 8gb for prepaid. Makes Canadian plans look lame..

Roam Mobility

We've had great service with Roam Mobility. We have a total of 5 sim cards with them that I will load with different plans, as we head over the border for shorter as well as longer periods. They have a sale on now, I think, for extra data on snowbird plans. So far, I've managed to grab sale plans with extra data every fall and then date the sims to activate the plans sometime in the future, which you can change whenever you want. I highly recommend them.

I have a T-Mobile plan, unlimited talk & text in Canada, US and Mexico. 5GB/month of data in Canada & Mexico (they roam on Bell) and 10GB/month of data in the US. It is prepaid so no credit check, US$45/month.

I did not want t o loose my Canadian number so I ported it over to a VOIP carrier and call forward all calls to my US number.

I did try AT&T before switching to T-Mobile and it not fully work in Canada. Things like unable to send images over MMS.

If you are looking for Internet, this post may interest you. $40-month-unlimited-internet Look for post #10 with full instructions. The Internet does not work in Canada but this is also prepaid so stop paying when you don't need it.
