Ok, I'm a bit of a web weather junkie, even more so in the winter when snow makes interesting pictures. I've got a couple of provincial web cam sites which are fun to watch.

For here: http://www.roads.gov.nl.ca/cameras/ Today's fun watch is: L'Anse Au Loup, Labrador

For BC : http://www.th.gov.bc.ca/bchighwaycam/index.htm Since it's dark there, I can't tell what will be the site to watch today and tonight yet.

So, who else has a link to as interesting a site, especially for winter?

:? (still need a fun/positive ? smiley)

Labrador temperatures look to be about the same as out here. Yesterday was beautiful and most of the snow has flown south. Just a few patches in shady areas. It's 05:50 right now and +2. Suppose to be partly cloudy with temp from +5 to +9 for the rest of the week.

437 days till freedom

WillYum, correct me if I'm wrong. Did you take all of those web cams to be from Labrador?

Only the bottom two on the main page are from Labrador. The rest are from the island of Newfoundland. Those plus temperatures are on the island.

I actually was looking at the general temperatures around Labrador on one of the weather sites. Temperature seemed to be around the 0C mark or a little above. Not seeing anything too very cold yet.

I had looked at the URL you posted to a camera at L'Anse Au Loup and was trying to find out what the temp was there. Looks like the snow is melting and it was raining.

Ah, time helps one to interpret these webcams. I would say that the wind is blowing directly at the camera and that, maybe, the air temperature is 0+ or the camera is a dark colour, thus melts the snow. If you look at the roads, you can tell that they are salted. The snow outside the salted area is very much there.

Compare with Happy Valley - Goose Bay. They sand in Happy Valley, but L'Anse au Loup is near the coast and on the road between Blanc Sablon and Cartright.

Québec City: 0?C.

Wet,/Light Rain/Two Flakes/ Dreary.

Two things to do in such weather and the second one is to watch the Nextel Cup race at Homestead.............

AH!! We had a great near winter day up in Markham, just north of Toronto, hit +9C with the sun shining, my kind of winter. Of course some of you other fellows are 500-600? miles north of me. We have yet to see any snow down here south of London, at least not on the ground.

We may get it a bit later than others, but we get it:

This was taken on March 23, 2004, after we had had a week of slightly above freezing temperatures, following 2.5 months of absolutley no melt. Yep, snow didn't get serious until the 2nd week of January that year. I was standing in the little door for my garage at ground height looking at the driveway I use in winter. That's the top of my truck, which is well over my head in height.
