Just wanted to know if there's camping around St. Jacobs. What is there to see in that area?

brad03ca: Try http://www.greenacrepark.com situated in Waterloo 5km from St. Jacobs. If the link doesn't work try 1-877-885-7275 . The town of St. Jacobs is a quaint little town with a flavour of the mennonite influence with restaurants, shopping, main street blacksmith shop, even a multi-silo grain elevator converted to a shopping mall. The town is a stones throw from a farmers market as well.

Sorry I couldn't give info on camping near St. Jacobs; I've never seen advertisements on the route we take through the country from Guelph. The town of St Jacobs has many little shops and if your wife likes to shop, this is the place for her. The farmer's market is the place for me. They sell livestock, all sorts of vegetables, fruit, fresh meat, handicrafts and maple syrup. I was reared on a small farm in N.C. and I find farmers' markets very interesting, especially when the products offered for sale are so varied and fresh, in the case of the veggies. Look around and you can find most anything that you could want.

Green Acres park is a very nice park and it is less than 5 miles to St Jacobs and is much closer to the St Jacobs Farmers market which is definitely worth a visit.
Laurel Creek Conservation area is also right beside Green Acres and it to has some nice sites.
St Jacobs is the center of the Mennonite community in this arae and the smal;l stores are very nice and the items for sale at the market are very nice.
WE live in Waterloo and actually store our MH at Green Acres Park.
If any specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

Brad, the St Jacobs market is open on Tuesdays and I think, Thursday thru Saturday. I went on Tuesday and it was not as crowded as it usually is on the weekend.
Enjoy
