Hi
Started the summer camping season , have camped 9 nights to date,,
Noticed campsite prices have increased at two sites that I like to visit...KOA Kingston On & Victoria Park , Cobourg On...

Than , I filled the truck a couple of times at over a dollar/liter...Wow! that hurts....
Have fun , bring lots of money....

The Miracle Cure

THE PITS

(CHORUS)
It's the 24th of May and we likes to get away
Up in the woods or going out the bay
There's all kinds of places but the place we likes to get
Is up on the highway in the gravel pits

We loves to go out in the good old gravel pits
We loves to go out there when life gets smelly
We can spray paint our names on the face of the cliff
Go up to the Irving for a coke and chips

Hitches up the camper and out of town we go
Out on the highway with everything in tow
The dog is in the back seat and Grandfather's drunk
Youngsters in the trailer and the wife is in the trunk

(CHORUS)
It's the 24th of May and we likes to get away
Up in the woods or going out the bay
There's all kinds of places but the place we likes to get
Is up on the highway in the gravel pits

John is coming over and Sue and Henry too
We polish off a bottle and a pot of moose stew
We tell a few stories, an awful lot of lies
Green boughs on the fire to keep away the flies

The youngsters gets excited then they starts to bounce and jump up
When we piles in the car and goes up to the dump
It's cheaper than the movies so we all sits and stares
Up by the garbage b'y you're lookin at the bears

(CHORUS)
It's the 24th of May and we likes to get away
Up in the woods or going out the bay
There's all kinds of places but the place we likes to get
Is up on the highway in the gravel pits

We flies a Newfie flag on an old spruce pole
And drowns a few worms in a tractor mud hole
Then listens to the radio we plays it good and loud
A scoff on the Coleman stove is bound to draw a crowd

When the weekend's over and we're headed back to town
A half inch of sloppy snow lying on the ground
A hundred dollars poorer, who wants to be rich
We just had a lovely time out in the pits

(CHORUS)
It's the 24th of May and we likes to get away
Up in the woods or going out the bay
There's all kinds of places but the place we likes to get
Is up on the highway in the gravel pits

I hear ya...prices will surely have an effect on travel this summer. We started our "camping" in Feb, racked up many nights in the southern states, and even there... the prices are way out of line. Will stay close to home this summer and continue to head south in the fall. If I have to pay large prices for fuel, I'll make sure I enjoy the weather in winter.

Yep! heard on the news today NB up another 04 cents a Lt. and that we may as well get use to it because the trend from now on will be upward. I guess our's will go up at midnight tonight. Oh! Well!
Taking the RV in for transmission servicing tomorrow morning then home for the finishing touches on the trim work inside. darn! it sure looks different with the new wood and floor covering. Put down a new carpet runner, change the oil, de winterize, wash and wax and she's ready for the road. Now if it would only stop snowing and warm up a bit.

Not quite summer yet I guess. We just got back from camping in the Marmora Madoc area just north of Belleville. Rainy and cold on some days and very warm and sunny on others. Good for mosquitos though. Good uneventful trip. Even the drive thru that mess in Toronto was not bad at all.

Hello Novi: Any good camping in that area. I know of a couple spots. My parents retired to that area in '85.

It is a nice area. My wife's family have been in that area since 1872 when they immigrated to Canada from England. So we were doing genealogy stuff.

Novi if you are looking to establish your family website try myfamily.com its free and very effective for gathering family specific geneology contributors world wide we have used it for several years and have realized 1500 0r so contributors from all over.
If you ever stop at the Barrie North KOA stop at site C7 Cedarwood Run in the resort area for a cool one.

Lynne You are right about the chance it is a game called buy now or later..I have the feeling that I should get some more now.I use a lot of U.S. as We are close to the border and the Mrs.has family there also.I buy some food there and fuel also is still a little cheeper but not to make a trip just to buy it.$3.00 @.08 per $ to buy You get 3.78L in US gal.so for .24 I gain .78% of a liter not a big amount except in a tank full when our gas is high as say $1.00.9 it adds up.Yes it is time to buy some more U.S.Cash...LOL,,Bushman
