bushman... I have a GPS with a seven inch colour screen, with all of north american streets factory loaded. Works really well... co-pilot (wife) not too good at maps so this works well. Large enough for me to use as I drive...

We have CAA trip tik.....because I really enjoy studying maps.??(dont ask me why, i dont know) DW has to learn, she also gets to choose the CG and must read the directions to get to it.. quite a learning experience for her, she had done well and learns fast...I have wanted to teach her how to drive the rig, I am concerned that she not get stranded if something happens to me........but.....If i do show her and teach her. I am just as afraid that something may happen to me while doing so....

Thanks for the e-mail Car54 Bushman.

4 days on the road and home tonight!!!!

I didn't expect to have Internet, but did. Hence, went off without pwds.

How come everyone can't read maps. Oh give me a maps, a nice broad unfolded, small scale map, and let me see lots and lots of routes, streets, etc.

Found a new way to get to my fave fabric shop in St. John's. Just looked at the map, put the order of the streets in my personal image storage, zip, zap, zip, a few k later, right on the mark. Credit goes to parents who had my bro. and me navigate. Sometimes we took some funny turns, sometimes they had a look, but we learned. A nice map gives you a great overview. I'm in no hurry for for GPS.

{{But I did get a bit o' fabric, not exactly what I had in mind, stocked up on fabric glue, patch attach and velcro glue}} Say can you all me if the velcro glue will make velcro adhere to fiberglass?

Hi all, we just got back from 4 days dry camping up in Barrie, Ont. at the Molson Centre. It got down to -2C and quite windy for a couple of days. Not much snow 1" but north of Barrie they did get worse. Right now it is +6C a very pleasant evening. We use maps, my wife is an excellent map reader and navigator, so she says, so I do as I am directed. When flying aircraft I used to do my own navigating, but it is easier with her doing it. She hasn't gotten us lost yet.

we were going to head up next week to some friends in northern BC.
but they are buried under 1.5 metres of snow.
it will take a while for them to dig them selves out.
will probably camp closer to home next week but far enough to get out of this rain, another 10cm expected today.

brad you asked what we do while winter camping, well first of all catch up on sleep, then reading, hiking, ice fishing, photography, astronomy, and other stuff two consenting adults can do.

Rockman, I've had a good look the BC highways webcams this weekend. I couldn't help thinking of you all.

Also, over at the big neighbors, there is a thing going about Canada Snow. Some have been having fun telling the person, who thinks he'd like to spend the winter months in Canada - you know, true stories of the time they cleared the rooves in St. Anthony, NL with snowblowers, pictures of high snow, cleared and uncleared, the ice storm.......
