Do you have a favorite dealer in your area? Some dealers are "there for you," others???? have you received proper treatment?

Ha! There is only one. This was no good when I was hunting. I had to do everything via Internet and e-mail, facts, reputation, cost....

Trailers are what's big here.

However, I have discovered a trained rvpair technician who runs a province wide repair business. & I should say that my regular truck service garage uses this business and are doing more and more rv repair. So, if you in need and not too far away, give a shout.

ROFLMAO. Especially after a night in the gravel pits, eh?

I'd make sure to give a sterling reference.

Can't find the lyrics right now, but I have them bookmarked home Buddy Wasisname & the Other Fellers, The Pits "Oh, it's the 24th of May and we likes to get away ..... in the gravel pits". I'll get it later.

The Pits

Boondocking in a gravel pit.

In this NL there are whole summer communities built up in gravel pits, except that the occupants pay rent for crown land, set up 'plumbing' and hydro, but still little communities.

Did you read the lyrics to the song that I posted two posts back? It explains a lot.

Tons more fun than parking at a big box store.

{{& of course, if any trailer needs any repairs, there will lots of skilled mechanics/technicians around. --- Not to totally hijack the thread}}

I started this thread to see how members were treated by their dealer/ manufacturer. Turns out I took my rig for some adjustments, and my warranty is EXPIRED, after only one year!!! Dealer said this is new this year, and all manufacturers offer only a one year warranty. Did you all know this???? I sure didn't!!!! Kinda peeved!!!

Yes, I have little things, but my manufacturer is in Iowa and I did not go through a dealer. I haven't pushed the warranty issue with the manufacturer. It would cost more than what I've needed done.

What I didn't know when I got the camper is that the place where I've been taking my wheels for quite a few years has a fair bit of savvy with rv's. I've already mentioned them.

But I agree one year for a warranty for such a big ticket item is the pits.

On a more pleasant side, if you buy your camper new, the insurance I found will insure for full replacement cost if something happens during the first 15 years!!!!!

Your right Brad, it makes you wonder if they do not have much faith in their own product or workmanship??? Did you read the problems that a fellow RVer had with Fleetwood, on the RVAmerica Canadian site. Makes me think twice about ever buying new and he is far from being a lone case.

Novi, it sure makes you wonder. In this throw away society no one seems to care about the next guy. I purchased two new 5er's in the last 5 yrs, from the same dealer, and it seems the manufacturer doesn't care if I buy a 3rd unit. Well I can assure you, I'm done with Fleetwood. This I told them in a letter yesterday. I think in the near future, with the high cost of fuel, and the decline in travel, manufactures will wish they had Loyal customers. If they take our money and don't provide decent service,or a decent product, they don't deserve my business. So I say to Fleetwood....Bye..Bye

Just to keep on the thread, we are quite lucky down here near London. We have a Winnebago Itasca dealer who has treated us very well for many years and several motorhomes and keeps winning us as customers. We also have an RV repair shop, not a dealer and an RV appliance repair shop that are both decent to deal with and don't soak us every time we turn around. I think the service after the sale is far more important than who you buy from. The Winnebago dealer told us one time, we repair any motorhome, period. Doesn't matter whether you bought it from me or not or what brand, we can fix it.
