55+ RV parks in and around Yuma AZ

Hello all,

The wife and I are going to make our first snowbirding trip to Arizona this December and January 2020 and are looking to see if anyone out there has suggestions for the Yuma, Wellton area. I have been looking at travel and RV sites for the last month or so and quite frankly I'm going blind in my left ear!

As I said, this is the first trip just to see if the time there will help a medical condition that I have and just to see what the Yuma area is like. We did the hotel thing a few years back in the Tucson area but we were were looking for something a bit more reasonable price wise. We do not want to be in the Phoenix area; We had family that lived in the Jct. for years but it is just a bit too crowded for us there.

Thanks for the time!

Wife and I went to Yuma in Feb for a week and stayed at La Quinta rv park. Nice place, clean and people were really friendly. They have roads that are off limits to dogs but otherwise it is a very nice place. One thing when we were there the wind blows strong most of the time. They do have a good swap meet and other things like the prison to see. We had fun. Hope this helps.

We wintered at Copper Mountain RV Park in Tacna (about 8 miles east of Wellton) last winter. Large open spaces and friendly management. It's a 55+ park. They discourage having children for more than a few days with their grandparents so it's quiet. They have a lot of ATV/UTV folks and there are group trail rides. https://coppermountainrvpark.com/

We spent 2018-2019 winter in Yuma - our first “snowbird” trip. We stayed off 4th Ave at Desert Holiday. Monthly rate was $575 plus electricity. We liked being in town.
