Well.. we enjoyed silverwood but really no thanks to the campground. It was $49 per night and the site was littered with trash (which we picked u & burned). There was a family reunion going on and the partying didn't stop by the time we went to bed at 1:30 am! We couldn't find any way down to the lake but luckily Daves parents live 15 minutes away so they brought us there truck which we used to launch the jetski. We were in site 60, so many other sites have access?

Some how we missed the results of this thread. Oh yes, I remember now... We got buried in the re-renovation of our recently extended backyard!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But that's coming to a seasonal end and we are - again - anxious to go camping.
Our RV is gathering dust and many spiderwebs. Bad news.
A buddy of mine suggested Mojave Desert's Hole-In-The-Wall campground the weekend of Dec. 7/8/9/10. Any interest?

Wrong dates. Dec. 8/9 is the motorcycle show in Long Beach and holiday parade in Fallbrook.
Correct dates are: 12/14 - 15 - 16 - 17

Hi all -
I'm new to actually making posts on the site, but I've been leerkimg in here for almost a year. I can't believe I just finally found this thread! We live in Chino Hills just north of Orange County. We do a lot of boon docking out in Mojave, Cal City to ride our dirt bikes and such. My fiancé races his dirt bike, so we are always out in Johnson Valley just outside of Apple Valley.
But we also love just short trips around our area just to get away. I like having hook ups once in awhile! I feel more spoiled in our blue beauty! We stay at Prado Regional park a lot, we've done Puddingstone in San Dimas once and next weekend we're heading out to try Wilderness Lakes in Menifee!! Not too sure about that one. Has some good reviews on Yelp, so we figured we take a chance!
Always looking for nice weekend get always around our area, so do tell if you have any advice! I'd love to camp at one of the near by beaches, but nearly impossible to get a reservation and the one I could reserve, we were two feet too long. Their website said they're very strict and we would be fined!!
Cheers to all in So Cal,
Pam

Hi Pam. We are just down the freeway from you in Corona. Like you, we do a lot of desert camping. However, were looking to do more full hookup camping and a lot more chillaxing and camping that doesn't include dirt bikes, quads, and other toys.

Hey folks! New to posting, but have been reading for about a year.
Not far from you both. In Laguna Hills. I too am looking for close by spots to camp. With a DP it's pretty expensive just leaving the OC especially for the weekend!
We like full hookups, guitars, campfires, a winecooler/beer or two and good conversation.
Any suggestions on the above...bring it on.
John

Pachenga in Temecula is a Resort RV park. I've been going to Newport Dunes since the kids were young and everything was Blue and wood, but reservations are real hard to come by on short notice, and I don't like to plan a year in advance. Chula Vista RV park just South of San Diego is great, the spots are a bit narrow, but plenty of Big Rigs stay there.
We are heading down to Campland on the Bay in late June, but we are taking the grandkids, and that place is perfect for travel with children. Just a bit too family friendly for a trip when I want just R&R.
Happy Trails.

Two of my favorites in so cal are, Lake skinner (Murrieta), San tee lakes (San tee). Both have easy access for larger rigs, quiet, clean, with family friendly activities.

DH and I just got back from our long weekend at Pechanga's RV Resort. Nine coaches and 24 of our closest camping buddies sitting at one long table in the buffet! Good food & Great times...
We're off to El Mirage dry lake bed for the opening round of the SCTA speed trials this weekend. Boondocking out in the desert is fun but the dust gets everywhere...

Have fun at ElMo. It's one of our favorite places to go. We have a yearly pass.
