Best warm weather spot near water

I am looking for the best warm weather place in the southern US near water.....stream, lake, river, beach. Quiet & restful, no resorts...outdoor activities a must. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Sea cliff state beach ,in APTOS CA AKA SANTA CRUZ CA. No train or hwy noise. Unfortunately you can only stay seven days at a time but it is beautiful and there’s plenty to do. Monterey bay Santa Cruz all the way up to half Moon Bay and passed San Francisco there places to stay some are longer . The other area would be Palm Springs tons of great places there and you can stay one day to six months depending on the type of pad you want

Elephant Butte State Park New Mexico. Great fishing, mineral spring baths, golf, rv parks available, state park on the water. Great winter living.
