Hi, I do not know what place is the right one to post my add so I tried the boondocking.
I am looking for storage for next winter (sept'05 - june '06). I am citizen from the Netherlands, since 4 years we (my wife and 2 daughters), come for summer vacation in the US and everytime we try to explore a other part. This year summer'05 we are traveling in the northwest and plan to end in Sacramento. After the vacation I need storage. Last couple of years I was lucky to find something at privat persons for a small fee. Who can help me out.

Dutch Cop, let me say welcome to our website and forum. Although I cannot be of much help in your search for storage I think that this post would be better suited in the Golden State section. I will put a copy there for you and hopefully someone in the Sacramento area can be of better help. Good luck and visit with us here often.

Hello Dutch Cop,
You haven't listed what kind of RV you have, size, etc. Without that information I doubt many will volunteer to store your unit. We live in the mountains where we get snow during the winter so we store our trailer inside at the local fairgrounds for $2/ft per month, from November through March. It is inside and secure (locked storage). They require us to pick up the trailer before June 1 so they can prepare for the annual fair. Other communities near Sacramento may have similar arrangements. Another possibility is at Mather Air Force Base (closed military facility). I don't know if they rent hangar space, but they have lots of hangars available.

While you are touring the Pacific Northwest, be sure to include Lyndon, Washington. A Dutch community that you may enjoy, complete with surrounding dairies, Reformed and Christian Reformed churches that may be of interest to you, to see how the Dutch live in America.

A fellow Dutchman (3rd generation American),
