Looking at a weekend in December to visit either Cave Creek Regional Park or McDowell Mountain Park near Phoenix for a nice weekend in December. Anybody have any experiences with either place?? Which would you recommend??
Thanks for any help
Brad

We have not used either park, but we love the Lake Pleasant park , in north Phoenix off I-17/ Carefree Highway. Full hook ups around $ 20.00.

We were down in Phx today to see friends and family. Drove through Cave Creek Park on the way home. It looked very nice! Clean, all paved, nice rigs camping there and nice terrain. Also looked to be very new bathroom/ shower facilities.
I would go to Pleasant, but we get enough of that place during the summer with the boat!

You will have to do a review in the campgrounds so we can check it out. Give us an idea of the timeframe and maybe you can get some guest camping too.
Have fun

We have spent about 20 days total at Cave Creek. Nice and out-doorsey. Love it!

Just got back from Cave Creek, had a great weekend!! Yeah, it rained a little, but who cares when you have an awning and a thermostat-controlled rv!
The campground is FANTASTIC!!!! Nice, clean bathrooms & showers. The roads are all paved and the paved spaces are nice and big as well. Can back in a 5th wheel and have plenty of room to park the truck. The area is very nice and tucked back into the mountains/ hills. Water and electric hookups and a nice 2-space dump station.
We'll definitely be back again, maybe New Years! I think we've found a good spot to go and use our rv during the winter, and it's close to home too!

Yeah, do a search for Maricopa County Parks and it should be there. I forgot to mention how nice some of the rigs were that were parked there, wow!

We went to McDowell Mtn. Park a couple weeks ago for the weekend. What a nice park!
The spaces are large and far apart. On high ground with great views in all directions. We could see the fountain in Fountain Hills from our site. Large cleared space for firepit, BBQ and table.
We don't use, but checked out the restrooms... their literature says "immaculate" and that is what it was.
Very private and very nice location. We are definately going to go back there next fall.
