Ok, I hope this may get some discussion going and stir-up some interest going among some of the members in this "Southwest" Region. In looking at the forum for the Northwest region I notice that they are planning a small meet and greet in May. My wife and I are new to RV'ing and we would very much like to begin to meet other RV'ers, especially some living in the same general geographic region. What does anyone think about a "small" get together this spring sometime in the "southwest" somewhere? Maybe some of you with more experience could throw out some ideas. Death Valley comes to mind right off the top of my head.

This is a great idea, we need to get a list of folks who would be interested, their location, and rig type with number of attending just to get some ides of where we could hold it to be central.

We are in the Phoenix area, 2 adults with pets, 35' toy hauler.

Ok I might be intrested. I'm in Ridgecrest, Ca. Its about an hour or so from Death Valley. Have boondocked at Ballarat in the Saline Valley. This is just west of Death Valley. Jim where in Central Cal? I have a home in Hanford. And full time here in Ridgecrest. Death Valley anytime after about April is HOT.

I live in Fresno. I was thinking early April, late March. I know it is a short time frame, but it will allow us to put something in place to start doing something on a more regular bases.

If you haven't been to Ballarat. It has a lot of history. From before 1900 gold mining to Manson in the 60's. Also Rocky is a careactor. Also Seldom Seen Slim.

Another club you might try if your into instant gratification is Good Sam local clubs, I started the Northwet Meet and Greet thread about two months ago, and like you heard it's a long process, were doing great with our M&G but tried GS and had a local club call amd invite me within 3 hours, already had lunch with them. Going camping the end of the month at the same CG we are planning for the iRV2.com group.
Good luck forming the South club, next time i'm down there I will try and find the group.

I am still very interested in putting together some kind of a get together, I just don't know when the MH will be out shop. Hoped to be able to do something by the end of March but looks more like the end of April. How about some ideas of somewhere to meet.
