I will be OK and the bike will either get repaired or replaced if they total it. I will keep watching to see where everyone is going and when I am better we will join you.

Dear "Wiz",
So sorry to hear of your "mishap." I seriously hope that you will mend quickly and completely. As you stated, the motorcycle can be repaired or replaced, but it is more difficult for you... to be replaced that is.
Stay safe and get well soon!

Jim,
How awful! Getting SO dangerous out there anymore--what with drivers on cell phones, doing make-up, reading the paper! Gesh. Jeffrey and I were hit last year while riding our bicycles--guy ran a red light--gosh I didnt see it--well get OFF the phone dude
Here's hoping you mend fast and without any lasting scars. What a shame on the bike--it is gorgeous.
Glad you weren't hurt worse!!
Blessings,
Karen of:

Jim, glad you are "safe" as possible. The road rash will disappear, but you will remember it for some time.
Take it easy.

Unfortunatly when we took the bike to the shop to be looked at Mark looked at me after he looked the bike over a bit and with Cheri standing right there he said "I have seen a lot of wrecked bikes, and you are luck your still here. So I know how lucky I am and thank the Lord Cheri is not a widow right now.
Thanks again everyone.

So sorry to hear about your accident - and so glad you weren't hurt worse. I dropped my '81 BMW R100RT one time - landed on my wallet - still hurt to sit on the bike a year later, so sold the bike and QUIT!! Hip has since gotten better, but my "new" wife is adamantly opposed to my getting a bike, so guess I'll just stick with the MH.

Thanks Frankie,
I thought about it for about 20 min while I was laid up in the emergency room if I should ride again or give it up. I decided that I would ride again and I would take the lesson and apply what I learned to stay upright if there's a next time. If I could figure out how to do it I would start a fight to keep all those folks who don't belong in the car pool lanes from going in them. I have talked to several officers about what can be done and they all say the same thing. They can't tell if there is a small child in the back seat or not. So they cant just pull folks over. What really needs to be done is we all need to write to our Congressmen and tell them they need to reword the law, its a car pool lane mainly used during rush hours, there for there needs to be 2 or more people of legal driving age in the car not a mom and her 3 kids on the way to the mall, because she had to take them any way. The fines need to be raised and maybe we wont have people jumping in the lane to speed past everyone else and cause a bigger hazard.
Sorry I will get off my soap box now and go back to my original statement. I will ride again. I wish they would decide what's up with my bike I have been told it will most likely be totaled. I wish I had my check, I saw a 05 trike with a trailer in perfect condition for sale because the owner was to old to ride anymore. It was a great buy, if I had the cash I would have bought it.
So thanks for the encouragement .

Its funny,3 weeks ago my 4 year old rolled his quad in my driveway while I watched.Helooked okay to me so I made him get right back on,he was reluctant, but he did.He rode another ten minutes and I told him to put it away.I checked him out,he had a few scratches, but he isnt scared to ride.Kids can teach us something about fear.I still wont get back on a snowboard again,no more cracked sternums for me.
