How much time do you have? Do you want to make it a quick trip, or do some sight seeing along the way?

Certainly, if you're in a hurry I-80 all the way from Omaha to Reno is the way to go.

You could drop down to I-70 at some point and visit some of the Utah national parks (Arches and the northern portion of Canyonlands are fairly close to I-70).

Then, once at I-15, go north a bit and get on US-50 and travel it across Nevada. Stop and visit Great Basin National Park while you're at it.
