For years my wife and I have been camping each July in the mountains of SW Colorado. But this year we're thinking of somewhere different.

We are thinking the different parks (CanyonLands,Glen Canyon, etc..)in S. Utah, Meybey 2-4 days in each place.

I'm 50 YO, wife is 46, and we are fairly active, (walking & Mtb Biking), so we don't want to sit around the camp, but we want to hike/bike/explore each day.

We have a nice 5th W. Larado camper, so water and electricity are nice, but we can dry camp for a couple of days.

Also, what would be the best months to go, July, Aug, or Sept?? Sounds like Sept might be the best bet because of being cooler and school back in, so less crowded.

Any info, comments, suggestions, or points to other forums are appreciated.

Thanks!!

Well, Zion is nice for hiking back into the "Narrows". It is just now getting hot (100 tomorrow) down there. I say down there because I am 50 miles to the north in the high desert country. It is still in the 80's here. Bryce Canyon is high up and still fairly mild. Lots of camping spots at Ruby's Inn. And a ton of hiking available. Both guided and not.
There isn't a boatload of tourists around in Sept. And it is still warm. June and July are probably busy and campsites are at a premium.
