San Diego area
Will be heading back to San Diego next year and was wondering if anyone has stayed at La Pacifica RV Resort. The last review On rvparkreviews was from 2010. We've stayed at Chula Vista RV Resort(Pricey), and know about Bernardo Shores in Imperial Beach(My old stomping grounds), but would like anyone's experience with La Pacifica. thanks in advance.

San Diego Rv sites
Well I certainly can't speak about the sites you mentioned, but we have always stayed at Mission Bay RV Resort and it suits us to a tee. We spent a couple of nights once at Campland and hated the tight spots. Mission Bay RV Resort isn't fancy, but the sights are big, the staff is friendly, and the bay is beautiful. It's also pretty centrally located. It gets our vote

Padilliac, Now I heard the opposite about Mission Bay. From campgroundreviews.com, and being told personally, they squeeze you in. You say no? That the sites are good sized? From looking at the satellite pic's they appear to be pretty close. But no closer than say Chula Vista RV Resort.

San Diego
Well this is like recommending restaurants. Everyone likes something different. I am only comparing Mission Bay RV with its neighbor, Campland. We have not stayed anywhere else in the area. We stay in our motorhome while visiting our daughter who lives in the Point Loma area. I understand Chula Vista is nice, but have never been there. I have only one real complaint with Mission Bay. Their bathroom facilities are old and very outdated. But again, we have a class As so do not need their facilities anyway. I will try to attach a picture of us in site 45, one of the bay view spots, and you can judge for yourself. One mans ceiling is another mans floor.

That's about the same as Chula Vista RV resort sizewise, except Chula has hedges between the RV's..

Plans for Mission Bay in October, bay view. From their website the sites looked large. Like the central location to a lot activities.

Sites look to be a reasonable size for the San Diego area. On the water too. Campland is crowded and noisy on weekends. Also expensive. Chula Vista is our favorite in the area. Quiet and the park on the bay is beautiful.

Our decision was partly based on the photos of Mission Bay. The sites were paved and appeared to be wide. We requested a waterview site and hope its better than the one at Big Bear Lake Ca. There is a 15 Ft drop in water level. The cove area where we were put had a small stream bout 15 Ft wide. And lots of overgrown weeds and grasses. The staff never gave any indication of the water level and was quite disappointed when we pulled up to the site. There was no reduction in price either. I don't see another trip to that Holloway Marina and RV Park. Anyways, Mission Bay is close to where our activities will be, will check out Chula Vista also. Thanks for your comments,

We spent a Nov. & Dec. of 2011 at the Chula Vista RV Resort. It's more geared for adults but saw a few kids riding bikes. Very nice place when we stayed there. Outstanding fitness center and pool for laps. We plan on spending the winter of 2015 there on another western swing. The KOA is like most others in that there's a lot of activities for kids, although I'm not sure what would be offered in the winter months. And like typical KOA you can't pull up a monthly rate on their web site. But I believe they are more expensive than Chula. Since I grew up in Imperial Beach I like to go back every few years or so I can relive some of my ill spent youth.
