Things To Know About Quartzsite

This will be the 27th year for the RV Show in Quartzsite, Az.

The Senior Pass (Golden Age) cannot be used for a discount for Short Term or Long Term Permits.

The Average temperature during the RV Show time frame is:
  • Highs in the mid to high 60's (record being 87)
  • Lows in the 40's (record being 20)
A Short Term Permit can be purchased for a 14-day stay. This permit is $40.00. Permits may be purchased on site. Three vehicles are allowed per permit.

A Long Term Visitor Area Permit is required from September 15th through April 15th each season. (if you do not purchase the Short Term Permit) The cost is $180.00 and is valid for up to 7 months. Three vehicles are also allowed on this permit.

The Long Term Visitor Area Permit (LTVA) may be used at the 2 LTVAs in Arizona and the 6 LTVA in California during the season. (In other words...you only need to have the one LTVA permit for any of the 8 LTVAs)

Some of the basic rules may be found here.

more info to follow...

Golf Carts and power chairs are a great assistance in getting around as the stones are hard on the feet. These vehicles can transport one great distances along with your purchases, bottled water and sandwiches if savings is desired. If you have one, I recommend you take it with you.
For those who are Veterans, a friendly VFW is near by, air conditioned, and stocked with cold beverages.

I don't know about power chairs, but if you plan on driving golf carts on Quartzsite streets, they need to be street legal and licensed. You'll end up getting a ticket if they're not.

OOP's! I stand corrected, not power chairs,
but 3 & 4 wheel electric scooters and have a flag on it
so friends can find you in the crowd.

Quartzsite info

Free camping up to a certain limit of time is available about 6 miles west of town on Hwy. 95 at the Roadrunner site. No water, no dump, no charge. We hit there first then go to LTVA to dump the tanks, take on water, etc. Rules and regs change, don't know what they will be this year.

The Roadrunner BLM area is south of town...south of the LTVA areas (west would be toward Blythe).

There are other free BLM areas surrounding Quartzsite, too, not just the Roadrunner area: Dome Rock Road, Scadden Wash, Hi Jolly, and Plomosa Road. See this site for directions to each area.

Thank you for posting the up dates, we are leaving on Saturday as the snow is heading our way. We do not have a toad, so how does one get to the show if parked in the LaPaz/53rd st area? Is there a shuttle or just thumb?

I don't know of any shuttles. I would suggest you meet some other RVers and become fast friends!
Seriously - Have you thought of renting a car in Yuma or another town close by as you head into Quartzsite?
The only other thing would be a cab...
Good Luck and safe travels tomorrow!
