My wife & I are travelling to Solvang, Indio then to Tucson and places east in January and February next year. I'm having difficulty locating places to stay. Is there a web site or publication that sets out the various options? I keep being shunted on to propriatory web sites that take me miles away from where I want to be. This is our first major trip with our 34' class A and so could use all the suggestions and recommendations you can provide.
Thank you
Dave

I am not sure about Arizona and New Mexico but a nice place to stay near Solvang, CA is Flying Flags RV Park in Buelton. It is on the Ave of the Flags exit off of the US 101 if coming from the north. Exit 246 if from the south. I would suggest getting a copy of the latest Trailer Life Directory and use it as a guide for locating parks. Good luck

if traveling by I-10, when you cross into Arizona at exit 1, on the south side is a very nice park along the river. River Breeze, all grass 60x40 sites, full hookups and small pool. We stayed there for 2 winters. Convenient and very clean. Good for a day or so..Also, don't miss Quartzsite, also on I-10 about 20 minutes east of exit 1(Ehrenberg) Lots to see and do in January, big rv show, vendors selling rocks, gems and everything, probably even the kitchen sink! You can dry camp in Q on blm land or stay in one of the 50+ parks..We are at exit 31 off I-10 at Desert Gold rv park, with about 4 other parks across the road(hwy 60) or down the road..if you need more info, just let me know. We are heading down there about Oct 21, for the winter..Dona

Here is a website that has RV Park reviews for all over the USA... just pick the State and City. It's a great tool for finding decent campgrounds and avoiding bad ones. It's not perfect as folks vary on what they want and what they personally think is good or bad. Happy camping!
