Winslow Az.

I was hoping to hear from anyone who might have stopped in Winslow Az. as to where you parked .. I see they have a Walmart but the research I have discovered say it is off limits to RV's .. has anyone found a overnight alternative .. thanks Glenn

we stayed at the meteor crater rv park west of Winslow. reasonable price.. We toured the meteor crater as well and I found it very interesting. We got a discount on fuel and the gas station at Meteor Crater Rv Park also.. They have diesel. Meteor Crater also gives a healthy discount to veterans.

Go South on Highway 99 for a few miles and there is a nice little park by water.Think it is a county park. If not available go south a little further and there are plenty of places to pull over for the night or a couple of weeks.

Homolovi State Park is wonderful, dry sites and some with electric and water. Dump station at the campground as well. Incredible views and sunsets. https://azstateparks.com/homolovi/ca...d-tent-camping

I stayed at the Winslow Walmart in June 2019. There were signs saying no trucks (semis). There were 3 other rvs that also spent the night. This is not a 24hr store and closed at 10 or 11 o'clock.

Other than standing on the corner, I didn't see much else to do there. We just stopped in on our way by. The streets are one way downtown if I remember correctly. We came from the east, and went right through town. We had to backtrack to find "the corner", as it wasn't on the main street we went through on. We also went to the crater, as well as the Painted
Desert NP, and the Petrified Forest NP. All were quite interesting.

We stayed there one night a couple of years ago right downtown (not like there's much else) at the Elks.....they had a 50A Hookup but no water or dump....I think it was $10.

We were able to walk the whole 3 blocks of downtown including "The Corner", called Standing on the Corner Park, not much in the way of restaurants but it was a good stop on our way back to western AZ

I was going to mention "the corner", but you beat me to it.

I stopped in Winslow in October, shopped at Wal-Mart, then stopped again at Flying J, I was there mid day so did not spend the night. Though I had researched the potential for McHood park just a couple of mile south of Winslow on the water for free / cheap dry camping.

When I was there I saw 3 or 4 older beat up RV's parked at the edge of the Flying J parking lot, I am not sure, but it looked like they were set up for the night, or maybe had been there since the previous day, or both. I ended up spending that night at the free dry campground by the gift shops outside the south entrance of Petrified Forest National park.
