We are planning a trip to Santa Clara, Sonora later this month. We are FullTimers and have Home Protection items we DON'T feel comfortable bringing into Mexico.

Does anyone have knowledge if there are short term storage lockers available in the Yuma area? Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. We plan on only a week in Mexico, and then its on to Palm Springs followed by Lake Havasu, Quartzsite and New Years Eve celebrations in Las Vegas. Poor Us!

Whether or not you feel comfortable bringing weapons into Mexico is beside the point...weapons of any kind are verboten in Mexico. You get caught with just a bullet, and they'll throw you in the slammer!

Thanks Linda,
We know about the firearms and ammunition prohibition. I am not going to say wether I carry or not, but there are other protection items (pepper spray, tear gas etc.)that might not be thought of as 'friendly' and cause us to be on the 'unpack everything in the RV, just to check it' train. We are really looking forward to having a fun, stress free week in Mexico and want to stack the cards in our favor. Thanks again for your concern.

Denny; I don't know about anything like that around there, but one thought that came to my mind was a safety deposit box. I am not sure you can store some of those items in there or the cost and length of time but it was a thought.

I cannot find any reference to pepper spray, etc., on Visiting Mexico-traveler's tips. You may wish to contact our Department of State for specific informaiton.

Old Thread I know, but for info........

One enterprising RV'er I'm personally acquainted with was kinda stuck about where to keep two handguns prior to entering Canada on his way to AK.

He pawned them in Great Falls MT and retrieved them on his was back south.

Just make sure of the length of time you have to come back and redeem them.

Good idea! I think the interest might be fairly low for a two week or less pawn and might even be cheaper than renting a lockbox somewhere.
