Are you my Mentor..Ca Driver's Lic

Hi All,
I just received my Non Commercial Class B driver's License permit so I'm on the way to being legal for driving my 2007 Class A Monaco. Now, 14 days needs to pass and then I am eligible to take the "safety" Pre-inspection and behind the wheel test to finalized my License.

I have appointments scheduled with the DMV for the following locations, dates and times.

Stockton, Thursday May 23rd 12:30 PM

Modesto, Tuesday June 4th 2:30 PM

Fresno, Friday June 14th 2:00 PM

Is there a kind California soul out there with a Class B License or above that would be willing to hook up with me on one of those dates, times, cities and act as my Mentor for the DMV rep?

Thanks viewing this message.

Clint

First off having a mentor at DMV isn't necessary.

When I took my driving test it included knowing where everything mechanical is located such as wipers, lights, windows (if electric) accelerator and brake pedal, shifter and anything else necessary to operate the vehicle. The examiner has you do a brake leak down test but you don't have to know how to do it, He/She will guide you through the process.
You have to back up about 60 feet and not hit any cones, then pull forward until you're out of the cones then back up into another lane and travel the distance without hitting cones. You have a choice of parallel parking or backing into a simulated RV spot. You have to be perpendicular to the spot and every time you pull forward and then reverse they take away points. I did it in one continuous motion so plan out your approach. Use your mirrors and back up camera as you have to stop at a limit line when backing into the parking space.

On the road make sure you slow down and look both ways at every RR crossing and when you stop behind another car at a traffic signal, make sure you can see the rear tires of the car ahead of you. They frown terribly if you stop too close to the car in front of you. We drove down narrow streets, freeway on and off, lane changes and acceleration and deceleration exercises. Make absolutely sure you use your turn signals and constantly watch your mirrors.
The whole skills and driving test took almost 2 hours.

Be sure and exaggerate your head movements side to side. My only deduct was she couldn't tell if i was looking at stop signs, if course i was but they need to see your head move With no doubts. The driving portion here in TX is no problem if you are comfortable handling your rig i recently got my class A and had to test with trailer.

Originally I didn't notice that you're from Palm Springs. Did you try to get an appt. at the Fontana DMV? They only handle big rigs there and they have a huge parking lot for the skills test.
