Okay, two weeks and counting. Taking the motorhome from Yakima to Wenatchee to stay at Confluence State Park the weekend beginning March 16. Really enjoy that park over there. Nice bike path and a nice trail through the trees along the river.

Where is everyone else going for their first trip of the season?

We actually had our first trip of the season two weeks ago. Headed down outside of Heppner, OR for Presidents Weekend. Chilly but fun. Next big trip starts March 28-April 8 at Honeyman State Park in Florence, OR.

We've already made two trips in '07.
First trip was to Bend for Winter Fest. We stayed at Crown Villa. The weather was cold but the Santiam Pass was clear, that weekend.

Second trip was to Newport where we stayed at Pacific Shores. It rained most of the time but we had a great time.

Next trip probably won't be until drag racing season starts and we begin racing again.

dshultz50 - You mention camping near Oxbow, I assume you mean Oxbow Regional Park near Gresham, OR? Do you camp at Oxbow or another campground in the area? I spent some time camping at Oxbow, but wasn't sure what size rig it could handle or if there were other options in the area.

Thanks.

No, we mean Oxbow over on the Oregon/Idaho border -- in the lower ****'s Canyon Area.

I don't have any idea about the Oxbow near Gresham!! In fact, I lived in Salem...and never heard of it! hmmmmm guess I'll do some scoping out!

My Wife and I have been to ****'s Canyon many times and really like Copperfield Campground, it's large with plenty of grass. Very clean campground!!!!!!!!! Never been there during mid summer but I'm sure it could get hot! As soon as I figure out the "campground review page" I want to post some infomation and pictures. Also just for additional information it is just a short drive to a great overlook of the canyon, it's on the Oregon side and a paved road all the way.

We've taken two trips already, to the Oregon Coast, to shake down the 5VR we recently bought. Our first longer trip will be to NE Oregon later this spring. We'll do another one in the summer to Lake Billy Chinook in Central Oregon, the back to the Grande Ronde Valley in late summer. This fall, we are off to Los Alamos, NM to go see the oldest daughter and her family.

This RV lifestyle is really nice! But, we're newbies so maybe we haven't experienced the downside yet. So far, So good.

We're going to Hood Park for our first trip this year, the weekend of May 4th. Hubby is in design (WSDOT) now so he has every other Friday off, and no going out of town! We also have a trip planned for Potholes State Park. I waited too late to get into Charbaneau Park, so maybe next year.... we're doing just weekend trips this year, so I'm trying to go places close to home.

We haven't made it to Wenatchee yet, but we did go to Monroe for the first car race of the year at Evergreen Speedway. Had a good time. I think we're going to Wenatchee on April 20th. The first car race of the year for Yakima Speedway is this weekend and even though we live in Yakima, we're going to park the motorhome at the speedway just to be close to the action.
