I believe if you rear end anyone regardless of the type of vehicle you may be driving, you are at fault. In most states it comes under the following too closely law.

Well, I guarantee you that that chart is WRONG!! They are citing trailer towing laws rather than "combination vehicle" laws for WA and CA. They actually got OR sort of right but they failed to give the actual mph and stopping distances.
