Tent Caterpillars

They're back!!!!
I live in an area with lots of tent caterpillars, and I'm hoping that I don't have to clean the rv roof too much because of all the overhead "activity"! I trimmed the trees back, but those guys get everywhere! Anybody else in the Northwest have the same issue?

Got-em in the Midwest too. We call them bagworms, and regardless of what is said, they can kill a spruce tree-one branch at a time. We are in the 10-year cycle. I use a garden sprayer to spray a strong insect killer on them, can't remember the name. I buy it at a farm supply store.

If it is the same as we used to have in Oregon... caterpillars that make a large community cocoon, ie; "bag"or "tent", then what we did was build a torch on a long pole by wrapping several layers of rags around the end of the pole and then winding wire around the rag to keep it all in place, and then dip the rag into kerosene of something similiar, lighting it and burning the little critters to ash...

Just took the blower to the roof this afternoon. When this years crop of tree crapper s is done, the trees are coming down where I park the coach.
