You do realize the influx from CA since the early 80's created this?

The vast majority of the influx was more recently...last 8 years or so.

Migration into Washington

Washington was historically made up largely of migrants coming from the Midwest. In more recent years, the migration has come from other Western states: The population born in Oregon and California has doubled since 1980.

The Mrs. and I are native Washingtonians. Her childhood was in Yakima, mine on Mercer Island. After living on Lake Union in Seattle for a spell we settled in Olympia for 25 years (53" rain/yr). After retiring we moved to sunny Sequim (17" rain/yr) where we are surrounded by folks from all over. Mike
ps. Please don't tell anybody about Sequim.

An even more significant migration appeared when Washington legalized pot but they are mostly homeless so they have zero impact! Lol

Sequim sure has grown and I will keep your secret but you got to keep mine... Your neighbor, Port Townsend, actually gets less rain than Sequim but Sequim has more sunny days. Just say’n

Sounds like a plan! We usually book a spot on the water at Point Hudson. Where do you suggest we camp in Sequim? John Wayne Resort we like and also the KOA.

eddndee,
John Wayne Resort is across the road from JW marina which has an excellent restaurant- The Dockside. Most sites have a water view.
Another option is Sequim Bay SP though the hook up sites are audibly close to Hwy 101. The lower loop is quieter but no hook ups. Shhhh, best site is #80.
BTW, Love Pt Hudson! Incredible water views from most of the sites and right in town. Easy walk for grub and beers. Great urban camping, not very 'parklike' though.
